Her Crown? ..adorned in honor of the Eembuvi braids worn by women of the Mbalantu tribes from Namibia, a country in southwest Africa
Eembuvi braids are part of the process of Mbalantu girls being initiated into womanhood. Preparation for this stage begins when the girls are twelve and the hair undergoes special treatment to drastically speed up hair growth.
Kesandu not only gives life through her delicate touch but also heals wounded people, animals and spirits as payment to her ancestors for such a special gift.
Her power and greatest weakness lies in her ankle sweeping plaits.
