Nsibidi is a system of symbols indigenous to what is now southeastern Nigeria that are apparently pictograms. It is the oldest form of writing in Africa, with the exception of hieroglyphics, and the symbols refer to abstract concepts or actions rather than specific words. In the Ekoid language, primarily spoken in southeastern Nigeria, nsibidi literally means "cruel letters."

The character on the left chest of the jacket was a creative rendition of a Nsibidi symbol that translates to “THIS LAND IS ALL MINE”. Land is such a valuable and equitable resource.
